Alumni, current staff, faculty and friends of Northeastern are invited to Northeastern University’s Professional Leadership Lab: a bold and innovative response to the leadership demands of the 21st century. In an increasingly complex global society characterized by frequent digital and societal disruption, the PLL incubates leaders who combine intellectual rigor and creative problem solving with ethical behavior and culturally agile interpersonal skills. Participants are eligible for a Northeastern Professional Badge to certify competency development for posting on social media and resume after completion of all activities during the day.
In this workshop, participants will be focusing on personal and professional effectiveness:
- Apply personal leadership strategies for personal and professional effectiveness
- Work collaboratively on a real-world challenge from our “Executive in Residence”
- Network with industry leaders and alumni
Dr. Manny Contomanolis has over 30 years of experience in university career services and career development. Previously teaching at the University of Rochester, he is a former president of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). He continues to serve as a faculty member on NACE’s Management Leadership and Career Services Institute, and as a principal to TruMann Career Consulting.
Dr. Contomanolis developed and conducted the training of external reviewers for career development centers nationwide, focusing on standardizing First Destination Surveys and outcome reporting in higher education. An active speaker and presenter with over 200 engagements, Dr. Contomanolis shares his expertise on human capital management, cooperative education and internship talent acquisition, leadership and resource development.
Dr. Contonmanolis has a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Buffalo, a Masters in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green University, a graduate certificate in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University, and a Bachelor’s degree in History from The State University of New York.
Dr. Mary Ludden is a dynamic and transformational leader who possesses over 20 years of experience leading diverse and virtual teams of over 2400+ employees. She is deeply integrated with all facets of operations, strategy, and finance. Recently, Dr. Ludden served as the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of National Government Services at Anthem Inc. There, she led teams to achieve the highest government performance assessment metrics in the organization’s history.
Currently an assistant professor for the College of Professional Studies, Dr. Ludden is principal to her own consulting group Ludden Consulting Group, LLC. Dr. Ludden has a PhD in Public Policy Analysis from Walden University, a Master of Business Administration from Husson University, and a Bachelors of Applied Science in Accounting and Finance from the University of Southern Maine.
