Dr. Rick Arrowood is a distinguished leader with over three decades in nonprofit organizations and global leadership, holding positions in academia, organizational leadership, and consulting. He is a former Associate Professor at Northeastern University's College of Professional Studies and now an Adjunct Professor at Northeastern University D'Amore-McKim School of Business. He has taught global leadership on four continents and holds Visiting Professor appointments at Vietnam National International University (Ho Chi Minh City, VN) and Swinburne University (Melbourne, Victoria, Australia). He is an Academic Contributor at the University of Economics and Finance (Ho Chi Minh City, VN).

Awards and Recognition
He received a Governor's Citation recognizing his work envisioning, securing funding and implementing the nation's first-ever registry for people living with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease).

His research appears in peer-reviewed academic journals, including “Setting the Stage for ‘Good, Better, or Just Right' in Online and Blended Graduate Courses” appearing in Open Praxis, 6, No. 4, a publication of the International Council for Open and Distance Education, with co-authors, in 2019. His recent doctoral thesis titled “The Suit Must Fit: How Exploring the Transformational Experiences of Graduate Professional Studies Faculty Transitioning to Online Instruction Can Inform Higher Education Policy on Online Teaching” was published on Proquest in 2020. This study informed the development of model approaches for faculty transformation to online teaching and learning that account for self-directed learning, transformative experiences, and new evolving skill sets.
