About

Nik Bear Brown is an Engineering Associate Teaching Professor at Northeastern University, where he teaches deep learning and machine learning. With a PhD in computer science from UCLA, he has extensive experience teaching courses in computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, programming, 3D visual effects, web programming, server administration, networking, and game programming at various universities and colleges.

Nik’s major field of study was computational and systems biology, and his minor fields were artificial intelligence and statistics. He is a founding partner of NEU AI Skunkworks, a Masters student research group, and SquarkAI, an online automated modeling service. Nik is also an advisor to a few AI startups and currently pursuing a degree in Information Design and Visualization at Northeastern University. He loves teaching, data science, computational biology, visualization, and games and is always looking to make new connections.
