Katherine Haenschen is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Communication Studies and Political Science. She researches the intersection of digital media and politics. Her research utilizes experiments to measure the effect of digital communications on voter turnout, and uses digital trace data to measure online political behaviors. This work is informed by the eight years she spent managing political campaigns in Texas. She earned her PhD from the University of Texas at Austin’s Moody College of Communication, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Princeton University’s Center for Information Technology Policy. Prior to joining Northeastern she was on the faculty at Virginia Tech.
