Prior to joining Northeastern University in September 1999, Professor Lane served for 23 years on the faculty at the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada. He has been a Visiting Professor at Groupe HEC in France, the Koblenz School of Corporate Management and Nordakademie in Germany, the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration in Finland, IPADE in Mexico and INALDE in Colombia. Professor Lane has been a consultant and faculty member for numerous university and corporate courses and has engaged in varied assignments around the world. He has conducted courses in diversity and cross-cultural training, executing global strategy and the MBTI for companies such as the Ericsson, Bowne, The Cavan Group, BAE Systems, Schneider Electric North America, EMC, EADS, Boeing Sea Launch, Intelsat, Turkish Telecom, Exxon Company International, Bank of Montreal, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and a consortium of Mexican companies including CEMEX, Alfa and Modelo. He is on the Advisory Board of the Institute of International Business at the Stockholm School of Economics. Professor Lane served as co-director of the School’s Executive MBA Program and director of Northeastern University’s Institute of Global Innovation Management.
Professor Lane was Associate Editor of the Journal of International Business Studies for five years when it was located at the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada. He is also an active member of the editorial board for the Journal of World Business and the International Journal of Cross Cultural Management.
Professor Lane’s research interests are in intercultural management and diversity management as well as in organizational learning and strategic renewal. He teaches courses in Cross-Cultural Management, Valuing and Managing Diversity, and Organizational Renewal and Change. He is certified in the use of the Myers Briggs Type Inventory (MBTI).
