Christa Dhimo, MBA, MM, MSCOL, PMP®, HCP
Christa Dhimo is the first fully immersed professor of the practice in biotechnology–enterprises at Northeastern University’s College of Science, where she integrates her distinguished, real-world biotech business expertise with practical experiential academic scholarship.
Her primary remit is to raise the global profile of Northeastern’s exceptional biotechnology program by competitively expanding its scope and industry impact, growing its student outreach and recruitment, assuring top-rated and relevant course content and accessibility, periodically adjusting its program design, and fostering its existing and new industry partnerships. Her goal is for this program to be the most competitive, highest-rated program in the world based on experiential learning content, student success and placement rates, lifelong learner engagement, and general program reputation in the biotech and life sciences industry.
She is also the founder and lead consultant for Impono LLC, an advocate consultancy for early stage biotech companies, small organizations, and woman-owned businesses. Impono’s unique business model enables the team to offer purposeful solutions to only four or five clients at a time, thus enabling continued engagement in specific domains so that each consultant can remain sharp in skills and relevant in network.
Christa’s 25-plus-year career has placed unique emphasis on business models that integrate the sales, operations, finance, and people side of organizations. Her biotech and STEM network remains strong with connections from several bioscience and pharma companies including ImmunoGen, Solid Biosciences, Sunovion, Alnylam, Lyndra, Lantheus, Blue Earth, Merck and Biogen as well as leaders in armed and federal services supporting more girls and young women entering the STEM/STEAM fields.
Prior to founding Impono, Christa served in various executive and senior leader roles, including the vice president of U.S. strategy and execution at Blue Earth Diagnostics, Inc., and the senior director of strategic programs at Lantheus Medical Imaging.
Christa has a Master of Business Administration from Northeastern University and Master of Management in information technology (informatics) from the University of Dallas. After studying prelaw as an Archer Fellow at Suffolk University, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English writing from the University of Massachusetts. She is a master-certified strategic organizational leader (Villanova University), a Project Management Professional® (The Project Management Institute), and a certified Strategic Human Capital Planner with emphasis on appropriate organizational growth and scale (The Human Capital Institute).
