Recognized as Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women, Charlie Wall-Andrews is a Trudeau Scholar, creative industry intrapreneur, and faculty member at the University of Toronto (Canada). At SOCAN Foundation, she established many programs such as the Creative Entrepreneur Incubator and Equity X Production Development Program, preparing artists to turn their passion and talent into a sustainable career.
She is a Management Ph.D. (ABD) candidate at Ted Rogers School of Management, where she specializes in strategy, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Before this, she completed the inaugural Diversity and Inclusion Fellowship in Philanthropist with the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Additionally, she completed her MBA at the Ivey Business School and MA in Ethnomusicology at York University. She is on the Board of Directors of WorkInCulture, and TELUS Community Investment Board and is the inaugural Vice-Chair of Music Canada’s Advisory Council. In 2019, she was appointed a global Legacy Fellow for the Ariane de Rothschild Fellowship (a prestigious initiative of The Edmond de Rothschild Foundations).

Current Projects:
As a Research Associate at the Diversity Institute in Canada, Charlie is leading a community-engaged research project to study the enablers, barriers, and challenges of working in the Canadian Music Industry and is currently on the Advisory for the Coalition of Music Education in Canada’s Policy Forum.
In her role in the creative industries, she has successfully fundraised and established partnerships to support the development of programs that challenge the status quo in the Canadian music
industry. Many of the projects continue to thrive with the SOCAN Foundation, such as the TD Incubator for Creative Entrepreneurship, the Equity X Production The program is aimed to enhance gender equality in music production roles. Her commitment to engage and empower diverse communities allowed for her to fundraise to establish national awards such as the Black Canadian Music Awards, Her Music Awards and the Indigenous Songwriter Award.
Currently, she is working on the Creative Entrepreneurship Summit to help Canadian artists develop the skills such as fundraising, marketing, and project management, all of which are necessary for independent artists to advance their careers. Furthermore, Charlie is leading a project with Women In Music and the Women’s Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub to provide business training and mentorship to female and underrepresented gender identities in the music industry.
