The Gordon Institute (GIEL) is an excellent opportunity for highly motivated, technically competent engineers who are interested in leadership development but do not want to sacrifice their technical education. Each year, a select number of students earn the distinguished title of “Gordon Fellow” through this competitive engineering program.

As a participant, you will:

  • Advance your career with support from a personalized team of academic and industry mentors
  • Increase your competitive advantage by developing cross-functional engineering capabilities
  • Learn to inspire and influence teams to deliver superior results for your organization
  • Pursue an intense, market-worthy Challenge Project based on your organization’s strategic needs

GIEL is different than an MBA, because it focuses on leadership in an engineering context, rather than general management.

GIEL is more than a traditional MS degree, because it helps promising young engineers accelerate the development of their leadership skills and broaden their cross-functional capabilities.

Upon completion, you will earn a Master of Science degree in the engineering discipline of your choice and a Graduate Certificate in Engineering Leadership.

“I can honestly say that I wouldn’t be on the fast track I am currently on without participating in the Gordon Program.”

Cory Lloyd, Gordon Fellow
