On Friday, April 6th, our Distinguished Guest Speaker will be Jay Hill, Executive Vice President, Strategy and Technology, at Morpho Detection, Inc.

Jay Hill is Executive Vice President, Strategy and Technology at Morpho Detection, Inc. Jay is responsible for development and implementation of Morpho Detection’s strategic plans, business development, product management, new product development and advanced research and technology development. Jay brings significant experience in leadership roles in technology in the U.S. and globally.

Jay joined Morpho Detection, Inc. in 2005 (then GE Homeland Protection) as Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, responsible for strategy and all technology development and support for homeland and civil security screening products. Prior to joining Morpho Detection, Jay was Business Program Manager at GE Global Research, where he was responsible for R&D portfolio and program management for a $4B group of GE businesses in security, sensors, electrical products, factory automation, and water treatment.

Jay began his career with GE in 1990 as a Development and Project Engineer for GE Power Delivery, developing ultra-high-voltage protection systems for bulk power transmission systems. He later moved into a senior engineer role with Power Systems Energy Consulting before assuming a Black Belt role with this same team.

Jay is a certified Black Belt and a DFSS Master Black Belt. He moved to General Electric Information Services in 1998 as a technology team leader, and in 2000 became Manager, New Product Introduction and Labs, developing advanced circuit protection products for the Electrical Products Business and running the electrical test labs. Jay has a B.S.E.E. from SUNY Buffalo and an M.S.E.E. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is a member of IEEE, is an inventor on several patents, and has authored a number of technical papers.
