Bio
Emilia's passion for global education began during a semester abroad in Granada, Spain and has grown ever since! Her first overseas experience inspired the topic of her undergraduate thesis, which investigated the role of identity development in the relationship between study abroad and global citizenship. After graduating with a B.A. in Psychology from Marymount University, Emilia returned to Europe as an English teacher. She worked across Italy within English immersion summer camps, and later taught with the Spanish Ministry of Education in secondary schools in Zaragoza, Spain. Emilia completed her Ed.M. in Prevention Science and Practice from Harvard University, where she studied cultural adjustment and student development during the study abroad re-entry transition. While pursuing her Masters, Emilia also worked with high school seniors as a college counselor in a Boston charter school. Emilia looks forward to supporting students as they prepare to step outside of their comfort zones and embark on exciting journeys of growth and discovery!
