Global Family Business Leadership – Middle East Info Session

Most companies around the world are controlled by their founding families, including more than half of all public corporations in Europe, and more than two thirds of those in the Middle East and Asia. In the class you will gain a better understanding of the global family business and associated frameworks. The objectives of the case study and study-tour based approach are: (1) to develop an understanding of the differences and the long-term trans-generational learning that emerge from the longevity of global family businesses in different cultural settings, and (2) to explore the opportunities for family business growth through identifying pathways, relevant to family business leaders.
the program's goals? During the semester, students will have the opportunity to learn to:
• To build on previous family business subjects by continuing to explore the unique challenges and strengths of family businesses in a global context.
• To provide evidence-based frameworks that facilitate building insights into business, family, and self.
• To help students heighten their awareness of themselves concerning their role in a globally focused family firm, and their future career plans.To facilitate this learning, students will utilize comprehensive case studies, text readings, and class discussion, each reflecting the high degree of diversity in global family business today.
