January 13, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

This Dialogue of Civilization is to be held in the capital city of Sichuan, China - Chengdu.
Chengdu is one of the most important economic, financial, commercial, cultural, transportation, and communication centers of Western China. Its economy is diverse, characterized by machinery, automotive, medicine, food, and information technology industries. Chengdu's culture largely reflects that of its province, Sichuan. In 2011, it was recognized by UNESCO as a city of gastronomy! It is associated with the giant panda, a Chinese national symbol, which inhabits the area of Sichuan. As part of this DOC students will participate and earn 8 credits by completing two technical electives.

This DOC will not only challenge students academically but also expose them to the culture, history, and culinary riches of Sichuan. The students will be exposed to a wide range of cultural activities including several excursions to historical sites as well as sessions in calligraphy, Chinese language, Chinese Kung Foo, world-famous Sichuan cooking, and shopping and bartering at ancient markets.
