Mosaic is an alliance of student-led organizations that support venture incubation at Northeastern University. There are currently eight Mosaic organizations with many more being designed and developed within colleges across campus. These student-led organizations work side-by-side with student, alumni, and faculty ventures, designing solutions to the real challenges that entrepreneurs face when starting companies. Mosaic organizations are encouraged to collaborate to bring new forms of services and value to entrepreneurs and ventures across campus.

The Mosaic Fund was created in 2015 to make grants that support the interdisciplinary interaction between these student-led organizations. It is designed to stimulate collaborations that will add value to the entrepreneurship community and the ventures it incubates.

The current portfolio of student-led organizations that support the incubation of early stage ventures at Northeastern include:

Origin leverages Northeastern’s Deep Tech Hub  encourages graduate students to pursue entrepreneurship in biotech

There are three kinds of Mosaic grants:

Venture Incubation Grants are awarded to Mosaic Organizations that offer their services directly to early stage ventures in the Entrepreneurship Community.

Collaboration Grants are awarded to multiple Mosaic Organizations that have developed plans to work together in support of the Entrepreneurship Community. These collaborations should involve multidisciplinary activities designed to improve the quality and impact of the Entrepreneurship Community through education and/or the incubation of ventures. Collaboration Grants can take up to ten (10) business days to process, please submit your application accordingly.

Seed Grants are awarded to a group of students who have the serious intent of starting a Mosaic Organization.
