COLLEGE OF COMPUTER AND INFORMATION SCIENCE
AN EARLY PIONEER ON INNOVATION’S LEADING EDGE
In our information-driven society, the best computing professionals have the capacity to cross disciplinary boundaries, collaborating with scientists, business leaders, health care providers, and countless others. The College of Computer and Information Science—one of the first independent schools of its kind in the nation—empowers faculty and students to settle new frontiers, from game design to cyber security.
With your support in the Empower campaign, we will make giant strides toward goals like these:
Use-inspired research. Essential investments are being made in key disciplines of global importance, with the potential to impact every facet of human life, from business, health, the environment, international relations, and communications to entertainment. As a leader in innovative and applied research, we will build on our national reputation in cyber security, health informatics, software reliability, and network and data science.
Leading-edge faculty. Endowment funds will enable us to recruit and retain top faculty, particularly in core disciplines and interdisciplinary domains.
Outstanding undergraduate and graduate students. By raising funds for scholarships, fellowships, and new academic programs, we will continue to prepare the finest young minds to innovate. We will equip our graduates to make important contributions throughout their careers, in whatever field they choose.
Your investment in the Empower campaign will keep Northeastern at the forefront of the discipline of computing—and to transform lives by sharing information, driving discovery, and linking people and ideas across the globe.
“In today’s information driven age, it is more important than ever to integrate computing and information science into every academic field. I look forward to working with faculty, staff, and students to build upon the great momentum that has already made CCIS one of the nation’s most exciting interdisciplinary colleges.”
