What if…

we could detect diseases before symptoms? Protect our national infrastructure from cyber attacks? Predict and remediate natural and man-made catastrophes? The Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex (ISEC) signifies a major shift in the culture, history, and trajectory of Northeastern University—and reinforces our resolve to meet the challenges of 21st century life.

Science on Display

The complex will allow researchers from these disciplines to share core facilities, laboratories, and classrooms efficiently while fostering greater cross-disciplinary communication and collaboration.

The ISEC will provide the most technologically advanced equipment and tools devoted to support innovation in health, sustainability, and security.

Its deeply collaborative, flexible, and open learning environment will augment classroom and laboratory learning experiences to support students.

The glass-filled atrium and spiral staircase will put science on display and maximize the potential for serendipitous meetings between researchers.
