College of Engineering Receives Bronze Level Award for the 2019 ASEE Diversity Recognition Program
Congratulations to Northeastern University’s College of Engineering (COE) for being selected as a recipient of the Bronze Level Award for the 2019 American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Diversity Recognition Program! 82 universities submitted applications, which were reviewed by an augmented Engineering Deans Council Diversity Committee. The Bronze level recognition was the highest level issued in this cycle, showing that the COE is among the nation’s leaders in inclusive excellence. Qualities of the COE leading to this achievement include demonstrating a commitment to establishing baseline support for groups underrepresented in engineering, quantifiably analyzing and assessing unit composition, policies, culture, and climate related to all groups underrepresented in engineering, implementing programs and initiatives that strengthen the K-12 or community college pipeline thereby reducing significant barriers related to long-term growth, and developing an action plan focused on continuous improvement.
