Native & Indigenous Affinity Group

The Native & Indigenous Affinity Group serves as a resource for Native and/or Indigenous members of Northeastern’s faculty, staff, or students to come together collectively. The group uses its resources to provide support, spread awareness, and promote thoughtful discussion between its members and allies.

Goals:

  • Provide educational and developmental opportunities for members and its allies.
  • Create support for one another within the community.
  • Facilitate thoughtful discussions around identity and navigating Northeastern University.

Past Events:

  • Dr. Adrienne Keene, “Cultural Appropriation & Responding to Racism” workshop series, and a staff/faculty workgroup with guests from Harvard University Native American Program, Spring 2017
  • Host to Native undergraduate students for a reception and campus tour as part of their College Exploration Program for Native youth from the Southwest via the Wings of America “Pursuit” program.
