Start an International Corporate Volunteerism Program

March 30, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Does your work make the world a better place? It can! Let Northeastern University and the National Peace Corps Association show you how.

Join us for an evening reception with Peace Corps and Northeastern alumni and friends at Northeastern University to learn how - and why - companies are participating in international corporate volunteerism (ICV) programs. International corporate volunteer programs are proven to foster innovation and business insight, bolster employee engagement, and strengthen cultural agility. If you are interested in participating in ICV yourself or want to learn more about how to start a program in your organization, please join us.

You’ll hear from:

  • John StainesHR Officer, Global IT for Cigna, speaking on how Cigna uses international volunteerism in a successful global leadership development program.
  • Glenn BlumhorstPresident and CEO of the National Peace Corps Association, sharing sample community-driven NGO projects and the role of the Peace Corps.

This event is hosted by the D’Amore-McKim School of Business Cultural Agility Leadership Lab (CALL), a skill-based international volunteer program. This program is a collaboration between the Peace Corps through the National Peace Corps Association (NPCA) and Northeastern University. Through CALL, alumni and corporate professionals are placed as pro bono advisors in a host country to provide short-term technical assistance to non-profit and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in under-served communities.

Heavy hors d'oeuvres, beer, wine and soft drinks will be served.

Networking Reception: 6 - 7 p.m.
Speaking Program: 7 - 8 p.m.
