Join UTSAV for a traditional catered dinner to celebrate two holidays - Diwali and Eid!
Diwali, also known as the festival of lights, is an ancient Hindu festival celebrated in autumn every year. It is one of the biggest and the brightest festivals celebrated in South Asia. This festival spiritually signifies the triumph of good over evil.
Eid or Eid al-Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, is one of the most important religious holidays celebrated by Muslims worldwide. Eid al-Adha is the second of two Muslim holidays, the first being Eid al-Fitr or the Feast of Breaking the Fast, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Both of these religious events are celebrated with family and close friends within the community. Following the same ritual, we would like to invite the Northeastern community and our UTSAV family to observe these two holidays.
The dinner will take place at the Curry Student Center Ballroom on Friday, October 20th at 7:00 PM. Tickets are FREE and will go fast, so make sure to purchase them as soon as they go up on Tuesday, October 10th at 6:00 PM!
Hear from speakers from various religions and backgrounds, and then enjoy a catered dinner from Mela Restaurant. Semi-formal attire or South Asian wear is required.
This event is sponsored by the Undergraduate Student Activities Fee.
