Looking for Luke

October 10, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Join us on October 10th at 7 PM, as we watch the short film Looking for Luke and discuss the intersectionality of mental health and race. All are welcome and dinner will be provided. Q&A panel discussion afterwards with Kelly Chia (NU alum), Francis Chen (counselor at Tufts), and Dr. Juliana Chen and Dr. Rohit Chandra (child/adolescent psychiatrists at MGH). Intervarsity Multiethnic Christian Fellowship is partnering with the Asian American Center in hosting this event because we believe that as a diverse Christian community, the issues of one community concern us all. According to the American Psychological Association, Asian/Pacific Islander/Desi American college students have higher rates of suicidal thoughts than their counterparts. And in general, students from minority and immigrant family backgrounds have greater risk factors for depression. We hope that having more open conversation about mental health on campus is a start towards learning how to support each other in community.
