How To: Save a File from within AppCloud

NOTE: These instructions work for both the VMware Horizon client, and the browser-based access.

  • After doing some work in the application, save the work as you would save using a locally-installed application. Click on the File menu and choose ‘Save As…’
  • When the ‘Save As…’ menu appears, your hard drive will appear as Local Disk (C on *your Windows computer name*). Name your file and click ‘Save’.
  • Confirm your work is saved by checking the filename on the top title bar. You should no longer see Untitled next to the application name on that bar.
  • After doing some work in the application, save the work as you would save using a locally-installed application. Click on the File menu and choose ‘Save As…’
  • The first time you open or save a file from an Appcloud application, click on ‘Read & Write’ when prompted how you want to access your files.
  • When the ‘Save As…’ menu appears, click on Local Disk (C on *computer name*) and navigate to the ‘Users’ folder.
  • Inside the Users folder you will see a folder with the same name as your Mac username. You will see the standard file saving locations for your Mac in the folder for your local machine user account.
  • Name your file and click ‘Save’.
  • Confirm your work is saved by checking the filename on the top title bar. You should no longer see ‘Untitled’ next to the application name on that bar.

 

Saving a file, step by step

  1. Click on the File menu (step 1), and then click on “Save As…” (step 2)

  2. Select your local drive (on your laptop or personal computer). Reference steps 1 and 2 in the image.

  3. Enter a file name and click “Save”.
