Bolivia: Seeing the World Through a New Perspective

Dates:
May 11 – June 18, 2018

Description:

Challenge yourself and discover a new perspective on the world with our summer adventure trip to Bolivia. You’ll work one-on-one with orphans and disadvantaged youth, using your Spanish to build cross-cultural connections and learning to see the world through their eyes. It’s hard and rewarding work. You’ll help design and implement collaborative community projects that make a real difference in people’s lives. You’ll work closely with an international relief organization and learn their strategic planning approach and goals. Travel includes time spent in Cochabamba, La Paz and Lake Titicaca. The trip lasts five weeks; the experience lasts a lifetime!

China: Chinese Language, Society, and Culture

Description:

Explore some of the most famous landmarks in the world, including the Great Wall and Forbidden City, and interact with China’s urban citizens and cutting-edge professionals in Beijing and Shanghai.

Get a bite of China by sampling diverse regional cuisines at different locations, from street stands to fancy restaurants. Experience the regional and cultural diversity, the fast pace of urbanization and globalization in the country, and the impact of these forces on environment, business, and the society as a whole. Be completely immersed in Chinese language and culture.

France: Exploring French Culture through Movie Comedy

Description:

Explore French Culture through Movie Comedy! Enjoy outdoor activities and lodge with host families. Fully immerse in French language and culture. Reflect on inner selves through observing another culture, gain a mature approach to life and future career endeavors. Enjoy time in France, Switzerland, and Italy.

Next to these tours, the projections of ten comedic films will allow student to compare their own culture through observing what French people do, why they do it, what makes French people laugh and why. There is no particular challenge to this program. Students need only to be open to another culture, to understand and to accept its differences

Italy: Italian Language and Culture

Based in the ancient city of Mantova, this DOC will allow for a full immersion in the language and culture, away from major touristic nodes, while still enjoying modern amenities.

This Dialogue offers you a unique opportunity to explore the largest and one of the most intriguing countries on Earth, a country of magic and mystery, of iconic culture and revolutionary ideas, of extraordinary history and world-changing science, of rich natural resources and talented resourceful people.

We will explore Russia’s language, literature, art, history, and politics, and focus our attention on understanding the past, current, and future drivers of its economic and business development.

Spain: Spanish Language and Culture

This program is designed to help students improve their language skills and to immerse themselves in the Spanish culture. Students will learn about the different aspects that make Spain such a unique country while involved in the community though different volunteering options.

Spain: Spanish Language and Culture in Pamplona and Valencia

Description:
Join this Dialogue for your one-stop-shop of all things Spain! Travel to 4 Regions in Spain: the Kingdom of Navarre, the Basque Region, the Region of Valencia, the Kingdom of Castille. Be immersed in Spain’s culture and language. Study at the prestigious University of Navarre in Pamplona. Visit two coastal towns in the French Region of Navarre, Guernica in the Basque Region and Toledo in the Region of Castille. Spend four nights in Madrid; and two nights in Bilbao – home to the Guggenheim museum. Spend one night in the northern coastal city of San Sebastian; and ten days on the Mediterranean coast in Valencia. Notable activities include: white water rafting, swimming at Malvarrosa beach in Valencia, bike rentals, walking on St. James Way (Camino de Santiago), etc.
