Prof. Rachel Rosenbloom on the “moral failing” of Trump’s immigration order

Law professor and WGSS affiliated faculty member Rachel Rosenbloom sat down for an interview with Northeastern News about the historical and legal contexts of Donald Trump’s executive order to halt immigration from seven predominantly Muslim countries. Rosenbloom places the order alongside the most notoriously discriminatory policies and actions in U.S. history: the Chinese Exclusion Act, Asiatic Barred Zone, and the turning away of Jewish refugees from the Holocaust.

“Several federal judges have already blocked implementation of the order,” she said, “and we will see a lot more litigation in the months to come.”
