Congratulations to former WGSS Executive Committee member and current affiliated faculty member, Associate Professor Liz Bucar (Philosophy & Religious Studies) on her appointment as Dean’s Leadership Fellow. Prof. Bucar will join the Office of the Dean of the College of Social Sciences and Humanities in this new role, in which she will work with Associate Dean Jack McDevitt, the Dean’s office, the Humanities Center, and colleagues throughout the college to foster faculty fellowship and grant activity in the Humanities.
Over the last nine years, Liz has been awarded four humanities fellowships, including a postdoctoral fellowship from the American Association of University Women. Her research is currently supported by a grant from the John Templeton Foundation, via The Enhancing Life Project, and by a Northeastern Humanities Center Faculty Fellowship. She has served as an external proposal reviewer for a number of research funding organizations including the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, The Enhancing Life Project at University of Chicago, and as chair of the Humanities Sub-Panel of American Fellowships for the American Association of University Women. At Northeastern, she was one of CSSH’s participants in the university-wide Research Leadership Development Initiative (ReDI) in 2014/15.
We are thrilled for our colleague and look forward to collaborating with her in this new role.
