GRADUATION TUITION, FEES, AND FUNDING
Northeastern University’s Student Financial Services office administers several forms of graduate financial aid.
- Stipended Graduate Assistantships (SGAs) for PhD students provide a tuition scholarship, stipend, and health insurance. Teaching assistants support faculty in teaching undergraduates. When funds are available, research assistantships may be awarded. These are awarded to full-time PhD students through the College of Social Sciences and Humanities Graduate Office, at the recommendation of its departments. There is no separate application for assistantships.
- Qualified full-time MA students are eligible for CSSH Dean’s Scholarships, Excellence Awards, and Double Husky Scholarships. These scholarships offer aid toward tuition but are not accompanied by a stipend. If you are interested in a scholarship, please check the appropriate box on the online admission application.
- Federal financial aid and alternative educational loan programs — Interested PhD and MA applicants must complete a FAFSA.
- For additional research funds for PhD and MA students, contact the Office of the Provost for research award, including dissertation completion fellowships.
Questions about award and scholarship eligibility should be directed to the Graduate Programs Director for PhD students or the MA Coordinator for MA students.
Information about tuition and fees are available on the Student Financial Services website. They are subject to revision by the University’s President and the Board of Trustees.
