Sidita Kushi, a Doctoral Candidate in the Department of Political Science at Northeastern University, won the EUSA Hass Fellowship from the
European Union Studies Association. The academic organization offers an annual fellowship to support the dissertation research of graduate students pursuing an EU-related dissertation topic.
In her dissertation, entitled “Saving our Western Neighbors,” Sidita analyzes the regional patterns of transatlantic humanitarian military interventions. She demonstrates that variation in Western neighborhoods lead to more probable pathways of intervention.
While Sidita will defend her dissertation on March 28, 2018 at Northeastern University, she is also working on other research projects. In fact, she will use the Haas Fund Fellowship to hire an assistant to offset the costs of archival coding as well as exploring additional EU and NATO archives for an expanded book manuscript. She is also planning to attend international conferences to prepare her project for publication in peer-review journals.
