Chair’s Welcome

I encourage you to explore our website to learn more about the Department of Political Science. Through our undergraduate and graduate programs, we prepare students for a future as leaders in the public, non-profit, and private sectors. A Northeastern education combines classroom and experiential learning in a unique package of experiences and perspectives. In Political Science, this includes many opportunities abroad through faculty-led Dialogue programs to Geneva, Tokyo, Amman, Poland, and many other places around the world, study abroad, and international co-op. On the domestic side, Political Science students take advantage of co-op opportunities, internships, and our many course offerings in comparative politics, international relations, American politics, political philosophy, and public policy.

Undergraduate students can choose among combined majors, minors, and joint master’s programs, while graduate students have several master’s programs to consider as well as a PhD in Political Science. These programs are delivered by twenty-five faculty with expertise in the major fields of political science as well as the research foci of the university in health, security, and sustainability. Our faculty and these programs are introduced through this website.

Please come and visit as well. After thirty-five years in Meserve Hall, in August 2015, the department’s office was moved to the 9th floor of Renaissance Park. Political Science faculty are now on the 2nd, 3rd, and 9th floors of Renaissance Park. Stop by to see our new space and learn more about the department.
