Jenn Lammers is an expert on the not-for-profit and philanthropic sector. She has built a strong reputation as an innovative educational event coordinator and association executive, specializing in peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, member engagement, social capital enhancement, and actionable learning opportunities.
In addition to being a lecturer at Northeastern University, Jenn provides training, and event management services through her consulting firm, The Philanthropy Hub. Her personal areas of expertise include financial accountability, informed giving, and revenue generation strategies that support capacity building. Jenn has created and delivered dozens of nonprofit specific accounting, management trainings for charities in a wide range of fields, including workforce development, AIDS services, housing, and volunteer management. In partnership with Fiscal Management Associates, she launched the Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional (CNAP) program, through which 1000s of nonprofit professionals have received intensive financial and accounting instruction.
Jenn has long worked to enhance the understanding of emerging practices and technologies that support social change and community enrichment. Until 2015, she served as the National Program Director of the Alliance for Nonprofit Management, a national professional association dedicated to bringing management research into social sector practices. Prior to running the Alliance, Jenn served as Senior Director for Education and Membership for the Associated Grant Makers, New England’s largest professional association for foundation staff.
Jenn began her career in the nonprofit sector in 1998 as director of the New York Philanthropic Advisory Service for the Better Business Bureau, one of the largest charity watchdog and donor education programs in the country. While with the BBB, she rose to the rank of Vice President and managed the evaluation of over 1,000 charities. She also conceived and managed the National September 11th Charity Database which tracked those organizations raising funds and/or providing services to the victims and communities impacted by the attacks.
Jenn holds a Master of Public Administration from New York University, and received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Chicago.
