“Theorizing the Global Future” Speaker Series Event

Marshall Brain is best known as the founder of HowStuffWorks.com, which he started as a hobby. It grew to become one of the top Web sites in the country, and Discovery Communications purchased HowStuffWorks.com for $250 million. Brain is also well known as the host of the show “Factory Floor with Marshall Brain” which appeared as a prime time show on the National Geographic channel. He is the author of more than 20 books on a wide variety of topics. His latest book is called, ‘Imagining Elon Musk’s Million-Person Mars Colony – The greatest thought experiment of all time!’ Marshall has appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show, Good Morning America, the Dr. Oz show, CNN, MSNBC, Modern Marvels, etc., and has been interviewed for hundreds of different newspaper articles, magazine articles and radio shows. Today he is the Director of the Engineering Entrepreneurs Program at NC State University and is an active participant in the entrepreneurial community of RTP as a mentor, coach, consultant, writer, speaker and adviser.
