12 Week Writing Workshop

The Northeastern Humanities Center invites CSSH assistant professors to join a spring semester workshop, Writing Your Journal Article in Twelve Weeks, led by Liza Weinstein, Associate Professor of Sociology

The workshop follows Wendy Belcher’s workbook of the same name: http://www.wendybelcher.com/pages/Writing_Your_Journal_Article_in_Twelve_Weeks.htm

The workshop will meet weekly for seventy-five minutes each week, beginning in January 2016. (We will determine a mutually workable time once all participants are identified.)  All you need in order to enroll:

The Writing Your Journal Article in 12 Weeks workshop for assistant professors in CSSH was piloted in the spring semester, 2014 and included six assistant professors, from the departments of English, history, political science, and sociology and anthropology.  The workshop was also held in the spring of 2015.

The multidisciplinary nature of the participants and thus of the work shared was one of the unexpected pleasures of the group, as group members came to know one another’s articles-in-progress over the course of the semester.  Group members effectively shared questions and responses about the methodology, structure, audience, and content of articles as they worked through the workbook’s chapters. Every member of the workshop brought an article near to completion.

If you are interested in joining the spring 2016 cohort, please send your name, department, and working paper title to Meghan Brisson in the Northeastern Humanities Center (me.brisson@neu.edu).
