Jim McGrath, 2015 recipient of the Outstanding Graduate Student Award for Community Service

The department congratulates doctoral candidate Jim McGrath, 2015 recipient of the Outstanding Graduate Student Award for Community Service.  This University-wide award recognizes significant achievement in the fields of teaching, scholarship, or service across the university.  The award recognizes Jim’s significant contributions to Our Marathon: The Boston Bombing Digital Archive, a project of NULab, and will be bestowed at the 2015 Honors Convocation.  Jim is currently completing a dissertation entitled “Borrowed Country: Tradition and Innovation in Twenty-First Century American Poetry,” directed by Elizabeth Dillon.  He can frequently be found in the Digital Scholarship Commons in Snell Library, and the department is proud to number Jim and several other doctoral students in the department among the future leaders in this field.
