The Regional Interpreter Education Center at Northeastern University (NURIEC) was funded by the Interpreter Training Program grant from the US Department of Education Rehabilitation Services Administration. The grant ended on September 30, 2016, at which point the NURIEC and the five other federally-funded Interpreter Education Centers officially closed. Prior to its closing, the NURIEC served ten states and territories within its region: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Vermont.
