National Interpreter Education Center

Northeastern was awarded a five-year grant by the Rehabilitation Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Education to continue its work as the National Interpreter Education Center (NIEC). The grant ended on September 30, 2016. At that point, the NIEC and all five federally-funded Regional Interpreter Education Centers closed.

Prior to its closing, the NIEC provided resources and professional development for interpreting educators and worked closely with the regional centers to ensure coordinated and effective education and professional development opportunities for new and seasoned interpreters nationwide.

Please visit the NIEC Homepage to learn more about the center’s research and projects.
