Quad Technologies, founded in 2012 is a Northeastern University spinout developing disruptive cell separation and protein purification technology. MagCloudz, Quickgel coated magnetic particles, allows researchers to remove harmful magnetic particles post-separation. This leaves the purified cells undisturbed, resulting in better test and experimental results. Ultimately, Quad Technologies will develop its chemistry beyond research scale and enable stem cell harvesting tools for clinical applications. Stem cells hold the potential to treat life-treating diseases such as Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Parkinson’s, and Multiple Sclerosis but current harvesting technologies destroy these stem cells in the process. Quad was a one of the top 26 finalists of MassChallenge and received a grant from CASIS. The firm is in the process of closing its Series A financing.
