Cellular Bioenergetics Lab

The Crane Lab investigates why cells deteriorate with aging and other diseases with a focus on cell metabolism. The lab focuses on age-related problems that occur in skin, muscle and adipose tissue in relation to bioenergetics and downstream signaling. We are a translational biology research lab and we use transgenic mice, cultured cells, and human tissue samples in our research. The ultimate aim of this research is to develop new therapies for age-related diseases and improve tissue repair and regeneration.
