Cathedral High School After School Music Teacher

The primary responsibility of After School Music Program is to teach music to students of Cathedral High School in accordance with a flexible, pre-set curriculum. Most CHS students are beginners and have not been exposed to playing or reading music. A basic knowledge of music theory and access to instrument use will be helpful tools for this program. We encourage growth through setting concrete goals to engage students in the practice of art and discipline. Students will be expected to log each practice session outside of the After School Music Program to help demonstrate the correlation between practice and achievement. Program lessons will cover music performance, music theory, recording, and marketing.

CHS Music Program looks for volunteers who exhibit a:
-Motivation to teach/learn how to express yourself creatively
-Basic knowledge of music theory/music performance
-Desire to encourage personal development through the use of music

We recommend this program for volunteers who have an interest in:
-Education (grades 6-12)
-Music Performance/Business
-Marketing
-Community Service
-Fundraising
