Everyday Boston is a grassroots community-building organization. In a city that’s often divided street by street, and neighborhood by neighborhood, we’re working to break down the stereotypes that keep us separate, primarily through the sharing of stories. We teach Bostonians how to interview, so they can listen to the stories of their neighbors and then share them on our website. We organize events that bring people across the city together to share their life experiences. And we run youth workshops that broaden the worldview of young people by teaching them how to interview and empathize with others in their city.
We’re recruiting a full-time (40-43 hours/week) AmeriCorps position, starting immediately and running until July 2018. This member will support our youth programs, directly leading multiple youth groups and supporting educators as they run (and help to expand) the Everyday Boston curriculum. Our work occurs all over the city, but you will be based in Mission Hill. Biweekly stipend of $600 (before taxes) and $2,500 educational award upon completion. Please send a cover letter, resume and writing sample to firstname.lastname@example.org.
