Service Opportunity

a two minute video of the Dorchester neighborhood

I’m Catherine Widgery (widgery.com) one of three artist finalists for a public art commission at Codman Sq. Park. I want this project to bring together people from the community in an ongoing, creative way. To this end, I’d like to have a program that continues after the artwork is installed that changes and to which local artists and creative community members can contribute. I thought one of the easiest ways might be to have videos on different themes, taken on your smart phones, just a minute or maybe two long, submitted to a committee of community members such as the one that is choosing this artwork for the park. These videos would be strung into a sequence that is then projected at night either onto the artwork screen or onto the side of the church building.

I am hoping to present some of these videos to the public art committee on December 12th so need these ASAP! If you are interested in participating, please contact me as soon as possible at catwidgery@gmail.com or by text at 508-237-1660 and we can discuss this further. Thanks!
