NU|ACES Student Spotlight: Keith Corso

By ACES Ambassador Grace Wang

NU|ACES Student, 2017-2018

Keith Corso is a first year Entrepreneurship major with a minor in Law originally from Chappaqua, New York. Hoping to meet like minded students even before the start of college, Keith applied to join NU|ACES. “I joined the program so I would get a better understanding of the community that surrounds Boston as well as create a tight knit family prior to the start of school,” he said. “I wanted to build on my service projects that I was involved in at home and I knew this would be a great opportunity to do just that”.

Keith’s passion lies in using technology to create an environmentally friendly society. Although only in his first year at college, he is already dreaming big. This year, he is looking forward to combine his passion with his major to launch his own startup and hopes to be awarded the $10,000 IDEA Northeastern grant. While not creating new ideas, you can find him enjoying fishing and boating.

For Keith, NU|ACES has broadened his view on civic engagement. “Civic engagement is a mutually beneficial relationship in which both parties are benefited regardless of who is providing the service,” he said. “For example, while engaging at United South End Settlements, I have learned a tremendous amount from the adults I work with, while they are learning from me at the same time”.
