The Northeastern Alliance of Civically Engaged Students (NU|ACES), a year-long program, begins prior to the start of the fall semester with NU|ACES Welcome Week (August 26-August 30). Students selected to participate will move into their campus residence one week early to spend a fun-filled week in teams learning about the communities surrounding Northeastern. Through service projects, educational workshops, team-building events, and group reflections, participants will have the chance to learn more about the ongoing community needs in Boston. At the end of the week, students will be prepared to select a local community organization to work with weekly throughout the entire academic year.
There will be additional programming throughout the year and monthly meetings on Sunday evenings with upper-class ACES student leaders. The NU|ACES program will provide extensive support, training, and benefits as students engage in weekly service. By meeting new friends, becoming comfortable in our Boston community and learning new skills, NU|ACES will prepare students for experiences during co-op and beyond. NU|ACES provide a tight-knit on-campus community of students who use their skills and knowledge to impact the community and develop as civic-minded individuals.
The deadline to apply is Wednesday, July 24, 2019. Space is limited, so if you’re interested in joining NU|ACES, learn more and apply today! Applicants will be selected on a rolling basis through July 26. Students are also welcome to ask us questions at the Center of Community Service table at the Student Activities Fair during your Summer Orientation.
