Local Leaders, Global Impact – FinTech Success: The LendingTree Story
7:30-9:00 AMNortheastern University-Charlotte, 101 N. Tryon Street, 11th Floor, Charlotte, NC 28246
Join us for breakfast on October 30 for the latest edition of our Local Leaders, Global Impact Speaker Series. Our featured speaker, Doug Lebda, CEO of LendingTree, will talk about the company’s journey and Charlotte’s FinTech community.
Well known as the second largest banking center in the U.S., Charlotte has also earned the reputation of a FinTech and entrepreneurial hub, thanks to incubators and success stories born here. Perhaps one of the greatest examples is LendingTree.
After experiencing the frustrations and complexities of getting his first mortgage, Doug Lebda envisioned a way to empower consumers in the loan process where banks compete for the customers’ business. In 1996, he founded LendingTree, which revolutionized how consumers shop for loans and how lenders reach new customers.
Dr. Karthik Krishnan, Northeastern University associate professor of finance in the D’Amore-McKim School of Business, will offer insights into the world of entrepreneurial and corporate finance. Leaders from Queen City Fintech and Carolina Fintech Hub will be on hand to enhance the discussion.
**Not able to attend in person? We’ve added a livestream option (no registration necessary). Join via Zoom at 8:00am Eastern Time (US and Canada): https://zoom.us/j/777580849
