“You must never doubt that you can make a difference.”

—President Bill Clinton

This vision is the driving force behind the 10th annual Clinton Global Initiative University, an event that brings together more than 1,100 students across the globe to address critical social, scientific, and economic challenges. As a proud member of the CGI U University Network, Northeastern is pleased to host CGI U 2017 on its Boston campus.

More than an event, CGI U is a growing community of young leaders who don’t just discuss global challenges; they take real, concrete steps toward solving them. Throughout the year, and as a prerequisite of attending the CGI U meeting, students develop their own Commitments to Action: new, specific, and measurable initiatives that address pressing challenges on campus, in local communities, and around the world.

CGI U focuses on five areas, which allow students to form networks around common issues. At the 2016 event, an Innovation Fund was launched to provide seed money to support some of the most promising Commitment to Action plans. The first group of Innovation Fund awardees will attend CGI U 2017 at Northeastern.
