The Northeastern Women's Club Lacrosse Team is a self-funded student organization. We travel heavily during our season with the goal of reaching the national tournament, which will take place in May 2015. Our goal each year is to play as many of the top teams as we can in the spring season in order to rise to the top of our league to be offered an invitation to nationals. From tournaments in Virginia to California to New York, we work tirelessly toward our goal of winning a national championship. All of these tournaments have steep costs and we are asking for some financial support in order to fulfill all of our goals for this season and for future seasons.
Northeastern Women's Lacrosse is an amazing outlet for many student-athletes. We enter as strangers, grow as teammates, and leave as lifelong friends. As a team we push each other both physically and academically and are always there to offer support. Our project will help to promote Northeastern as a strong contender in the club lacrosse world as lacrosse continues to be one of the fastest growing sports in the country. It is our hope that the success of our team will lead to the eventual promotion from a club team to a varsity level sport. This will allow even more female student-athletes to participate and will show the country the competitiveness, talent, and drive that Northeastern female athletes have to offer.
Thank you in advance for your consideration and support!
Our initial Catalyst goal is $2,500. The money will be used for our remaining 2015 trip expenses including transportation, traveling, accommodations, and tournament fees. Additionally, the money raised through this fundraiser will assist the team financially for next year in order to build and grow the program even further.
The Northeastern University Women's Club Lacrosse Team is a fierce Division I competitor in the New England Women's Lacrosse League (NEWLL) division of the Women's Collegiate Lacrosse Associates (WCLA). In past years, we have ranked among the top 25 teams in the nation. Each year, we make it our goal to compete at nationals.
Committed to excellence, success, and fun, we are teammates and friends both on and off the field. We strive to be the best we can be, and in order to do so we must play as one. Our team is full of chemistry, talent, and commitment, and together we accomplish our goals.
