Keep an ice hockey tradition alive at Northeastern by helping us fund this season’s American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) league fee. All players and supporters know that hockey is an expensive sport, and this season the fees to enter our league are higher then ever. These donations will allow us to keep our club dues and playing costs affordable for each student athlete.
Women’s Club Ice Hockey requires a significant commitment from all players. Each player spends three days a week practicing and almost every weekend traveling and playing games. Balancing this schedule with our school and work obligations requires immense dedication. We commit to this program because of our love for the sport and the unique bond and lifelong friendships we develop with our teammates. In order to keep this supportive environment, we hope to maintain an affordable price for each player so all dedicated athletes are able to participate.
Everyone who has played hockey or any other sport knows the value of a team environment and can truly understand why it is an important aspect of our time at Northeastern. Some of our best college memories will be made on the ice. The more support we receive, the stronger our team will be, allowing the program not only to survive, but to thrive. With your help we can continue to represent Northeastern with pride in the ACHA, as we win some games this season!
Every year, we receive numerous emails from potential incoming freshman who are eager to hear more about Northeastern Women’s Club Ice Hockey and maybe one day become part of the team. Any contribution, large or small, will help us keep the tradition alive for our new students and make the program more affordable for everyone to experience. Thank you for your consideration!
Our initial goal is to raise $1,000. This money will be applied toward our annual ACHA league fee to ensure our team's participatuion in intercollegiate competetive play.
Our stretch goal is to raise an additional $1,000 to be used towards our travel costs throughout the season and new home jerseys.
Northeastern Women’s Club Ice Hockey team is a Division I competitor in the ACHA League. In the past we have been a fierce participant, placing 3rd and 1st in ACHA Divison II in 2010 and 2011 and 2nd and 1st in ACHA Division I in 2012 and 2013. The team was founded in 2007 and competed in its first official season in 2008. Our mission is to give Northeastern students from all over the world, in all areas of study, the opportunity to play competitive hockey, be part of a team, and be involved in the community. We emphasize the importance of hard work, dedication and commitment while building strong friendships and most importantly, having fun.
