Every year, our goal is to compete with the best teams in the country and continue Northeastern's winning tradition. Currently, our team lacks the equipment necessary to successfully fulfill this mission. We have launched this campaign to fund upgrades to our current equipment and uniforms that will help us improve our training methods and solidify Northeastern’s reputation as a national championship program.
While these may seem like small improvements, the key to on-field success is the work that is put in during practice. With improved training methods and equipment, our team can take the next step in player development and compete for a national championship.
Jerseys and other equipment inevitably get lost or damaged during play and represent our highest off-season cost. The generous support we receive our donors virtually eliminates that cost and keeps our team affordable for the college students who represent this team.
Thank you in advance for your consideration and support!
Our initial Catalyst goal is to raise $2,000. This money will go directly toward subsidizing the cost of new uniforms and kits for our goal keepers. In addition to replacing uniforms, donated funds will be used to purchase training equipment such as, cones, soccer balls, and pinnies.
We are grateful to have reached our original goal of $2000, these funds will go directly to improving the team's equipment and help us be prepared to face top national competition. Our stretch funds will be used to subsidize our biggest annual cost - travel. Unfortunately, due to the high cost of renting vans and hotel rooms, we are only able to take a limited number of players to some of our most important competitions of the year. The funds collected here would allow us to bring more athletes to competitions, giving valuable experience to younger players who are the future of the club.
The Northeastern University Men’s Soccer Club plays in the Region 1 Club Soccer League, which consists of over 100 teams in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. NUSC plays in the New England North Division along with several other Boston-area schools including Harvard University and Tufts University. Each year, the team participates in a tournament at Penn State University and the Region One Tournament held in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, at the United Sports Training Center, and aims to qualify for the national tournament that’s held in a different city each year.
NUSC plays year-round, with a full fall schedule, including league games and several tournaments. The team also plays a condensed spring season, pick-up games during the summer, and has various training sessions in the off-season.
