The Northeastern Men’s Squash Team has been representing the school in the Division I US Squash National Collegiate League since 2005. We remain one of the top club programs in the nation, yet continue to challenge ourselves by competing against varsity teams at the national level. To stay competitive, we hold intense 2-hour practices 4 days per week, mixing drills with fitness and gameplay. We also meet with strength trainers 1 time per week to maintain the fitness level required in squash. In conjunction with this training, we schedule collegiate matches every 1-2 weeks during season. In order to support this effort and the continuing success of the Husky Squash Program, we are asking for your sponsorship in our travel to nationals this season.
Based on the success of this initial effort, we are also raising funding to support the future of the squash program at Northeastern. Any additional capital raised beyond our goal will be applied toward the 2016-17 US Squash league dues and additional expenses such as balls, uniforms, and coaching salaries.
The Northeastern Squash program provides a supportive and fun environment for both players and spectators. It facilitates connections between Northeastern and other school communities, while creating bonds between all players that remain in place both on and off the court. Squash provides an excellent competitive outlet for players and a superb spectating environment for friends and supporters of squash and student-athletes in the Northeastern community.
Our initial goal is to raise $1,000 via Catalyst. This money will go towards hotel costs for 10 players and our coach.
Our stretch goal is to raise an additonal $1,725 which will be put towards our teams league dues.
The NU Men's Club Squash Team represents NU in the national varsity
