NU Men's Alpine Ski Team

Video produced by the NU Men's Alpine Ski team 2016.

Last year, Northeastern University’s Men’s Alpine Ski Team had a stellar year taking first overall in the Thompson Division with solid performances all year long. We may not have the masses of snow that we had last year, but our determination has not dwindled in the slightest as we look to do even better this year. Our motivation and preparation coming into the 2016 season has hit an all time high and we are more determined than ever to make Nationals and bring home the gold to our beloved Northeastern University. This year is a year unlike any other; we have retained almost every single member from last year’s dynasty and added talented young guns from the freshman class. After long hours in the weight room and becoming good friends with the stairs at Harvard Stadium, we are confident that it will show on the slopes. One team. One dream. . . Nationals!

Unfortunately, this sport in which we partake in is not cheap. Alpine ski racing is an expensive sport, which is only made possible by our fundraising efforts. On top of having to pay for travel all throughout New England in order to attend races twice a week, the team individually pays for registration fees, lift tickets, hotel rooms and food. In addition to these expenses, team members pay for all of their own equipment including racing skis, boots, poles and certified racing helmets, which cost a minimum of $300 each. Dues for each member are $700 and hill training is an additional $20 per week.

Skiing may be close to our hearts but the community in which we live in is what really hits home for us. The Northeastern Men’s Alpine Ski Team tries to give back to those in need in our Boston community. Last year we donated ski equipment and winter clothing to give kids the chance to embark on a ski trip. We were able to share our passion with those less fortunate and show them what the sport truly means to us. We are also constantly supporting our fellow Husky student-athletes at hockey and basketball games throughout the winter. Go NU!

We’re asking for your help to send us to the 2016 USCSA National Championship which will take place in Lake Placid. This will cost our team over $8,000 in registration fees, travel and lodging. We are asking for your financial support, which will allow us to show the country what the Northeastern Men’s Alpine Ski Team is truly made of. As one of the topped ranked teams in the country we continually strive every day to reach our goals. National’s is our biggest endeavor of them all and we thank you in advanced for your support. Lets bring a National Championship back to Boston!

Our Goal

Our goal is to raise $2,000 to cover the registration fees and travel cost required to compete in the United States Collegiate Ski Association at both the regional and national level. The total cost for the National dues is $415 and the cost for the Regional division dues is $1,185. The remaining $400 will be used to subsidize a portion of the cost of lodging for 10 team members during the competition.

Stretch Goal: $3,000

Our stretch goal is to raise an additional $3,000. With this stretch goal money, we would be able to cover the cost of our entire trip to nationals including registration fees, lodging and transportation.

Thank You For Your Support!
