In 2012, Northeastern students from around the world came together on campus to form the Northeastern University Cricket Association (NUCA). We all had the same goal in mind: to one day represent Northeastern at the national level. Last year, after a successful local season, we received an invitation to play in the national competition but unfortunately had to decline due to insufficient funds. This year, fully established and prepared to take on this bigger task, our team is reaching out to the Northeastern community to help us raise funds so we are able to achieve our goal to compete in the 2015 American College Cricket National Championship. NUCA is ready to take on this challenge and we will do everything we can to make our university proud.
By achieving a national title we hope to bring attention to the sport of cricket among the Northeastern community, both locally and globally. Cricket is among the top three sports played internationally. In sharing our experience, Northeastern students, alumni, parents, and friends from around the world will feel even more connected to the university community that unites us. We hope our commitment will help raise awareness about the sport, educate others about the creativity of the game, and open doors for new student-athletes to join us.
Please consider making a donation to send our team to the national tournament. We truly appreciate any contribution you can make!
Our initial Catalyst goal is $2,000. This money will be used to supplement the cost of airline tickets to send 14 students to Miami to compete in the 2015 American College Cricket National Championship this March.
Northeastern University Cricket Association was founded in January 2012 and since then has attained tremendous success. We have competed in multiple local competitions and have proved to be one of the top 30 teams in the nation. Our team is dedicated to bringing cricket to a larger demographic in the U.S. This is the first year that we will be fortunate enough to travel to Miami to participate in the 2015 American College Cricket National Championship.
