Help Us Travel to Nationals

Video produced by the Northeastern University Alpine Ski Team 2014.

In March 2015, the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) National Championship will take place in Mt. Bachelor, Oregon, and we need your help to get there!

Last year, the Northeastern University Alpine Ski Team started from scratch with a group comprised nearly entirely of new members. Our hard work paid off and both the men’s and women’s teams won their overall division titles and advanced to the regionals, where we race against university-funded varsity programs. Both teams had strong showings and qualified for the USCSA National Championships, making them the first teams from the Thompson Division to do so in almost 30 years!

This year the team has only grown stronger with hard work and an impressive freshman class. However, since ski racing is a very expensive sport, we rely on fundraising to make races possible for our team. Every week we travel throughout New England, from southern Vermont to northern Maine. We race twice each weekend and individually pay for our race registration, ski tickets, hotel rooms, and gas. In addition to the weekend fares, our members pay for their own race skis, race boots, poles, and a certified racing helmet.

The 2015 USCSA National Championships at Mt. Bachelor will cost the team over $10,000. We are asking for your support to help us pursue our dream and empower our team. We believe with your generous support we will not only be able to qualify for nationals but also be one of the top-ranked teams in the country. If we are fortunate enough to travel across the country to compete in the 2015 USCSA National Championships, we would be honored to represent Northeastern University. Thank you in advance for your support!

Our Initial Goal - $1,600

Our initial Catalyst goal is to raise $1,600. This amount will cover our registration fee and lodging for the 2015 USCSA National Championships in Mt. Bachelor, Oregon.

Our Additional Goal - $3,500

Thanks to the generous contributions of donors, we have raised the initial amount needed to pay for our race entries at the USCSA National Championships. We hope to continue our fundraising efforts to raise an additional $3,500 which will directly supplement the cost of airfare and lodging for our trip, which traditionally can total up to $7,500 for the team. Thank you so much for your time and donations thus far, we hope to continue our success!

Thank you for your support!
