Memory is not just a sight, or a sound, taste, or touch, it is also the product of the years of who you are. All of that is mixed up and then regurgitated back out when you recall a memory. But when you pull this recall from the depths of your consciousness, this memory becomes a new memory unto itself and it goes back into your consciousness once more, slightly altered, awaiting the next recall. Therefore time is inextricably linked to memory, not only in the space the memory exists in, but also due to you changing and growing with time. Memories are fleeting, but they are not fleeting because time is fleeting, they are fleeting because we change and therefore so do our memories along with us.
